  1. In Memory is Nevermore 's only EP. It was recorded in April and May and released on July 23, It features a Bauhaus medley. It was re-issued in with 5 bonus tracks, which are all demos of songs from the next full-length album, The Politics of Ecstasy.
  2. In Memory is Nevermore's 2nd release, clocking in at around 26 minutes. It follows their eponymous debut album and was released shortly before their 2nd full-length, The Politics of Ecstasy. In Memory: It's obvious as soon as [i]Optimist or Pessimist[i] kicks in that Jeff Loomis can write a great riff.
  3. Sporting some of singer Warrel Dane's most extreme vocal workouts, In Memory is an impressive musical display of neo-progressive yet heavy melodic metal. With an identical band lineup and producer Neil Kernon returning to helm the console, the results on this follow-up to 's eponymous debut are predictably similar. The bombastic medley of Bauhaus cuts, "Silent Hedges/Double Dares," is 6/
  4. Van William's drums kick major ass and Warrel Dane's vocals are great as always. After their more Sanctuary-esque debut, In Memory, is where Nevermore really came into their own. Warrel's vocals are now more baritone then bat-scream and the music is more meloncholy. Kicking off is the headbanger Optimist or Pessimist.
  5. May be if I had heard this one first., I would have thought it a classic, but "The Politics of Ecstasy" was actually the first album I had heard. My two favorite tracks are "What Tomorrow Knows" and the excellent "Garden of Gray." Nevermore - in memory (Century Media) 1. "Optimist or Pessimist" () 2.
  6. the pessimist never bends, constricting thoughts in vain from the pessimist's point of view there's nothing we can do as I paint this picture gray and taste the pain I'll play the optimist The only world I know is the world I cling to It's a world that I'd want to save optimist or pessimist, what am I .
  7. Label: Century Media - • Series: Two Originals (3) • Format: Box Set Compilation CD EP, Reissue CD Album, Reissue • Country: UK & Europe • Genre: Rock • .
  8. "Optimist or Pessimist" is a pretty raw and aggressive thrash metal oriented track, "Matricide" is US power metal, "In Memory" is more heavy, dramatic, and epic almost gothic in style (and a little progressive metal oriented too), "Silent Hedges / Double Dare" is a Bauhaus cover (introducing Nevermore´s tradition of doing interesting covers), and "The Sorrowed Man" is a melancholic metal ballad.
